Jay Bhatt
Chief Executive Officer
Jay Bhatt is the CEO and board member of M-Files. He was previously CEO and board member of Alfresco Software, Blackboard Inc., Progress Software Corporation (PRGS:NASDAQ), and led the Architecture, Engineering, & Construction Division at Autodesk (ADSK:NASDAQ). Additionally, Jay is the founder of investment firm CrossParadigm Capital, and also served as a managing director and partner at Thomas H. Lee Partners, a private equity investment firm where he co-lead technology and software investing. Earlier in his career Jay was a transaction attorney and an investment banker. Jay is a board member at a nonprofit called Cradles to Crayons, which provides resources such as school supplies and clothing to homeless and low-income children. Jay holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
Antti Nivala
Founder & Chief Innovation Officer
Antti is the Founder of M-Files, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Innovation Officer. He conceived the vision of M-Files and, as Chief Innovation Officer, continues to play a critical role in shaping the vision and innovation of the M-Files knowledge work automation platform. Additionally, Antti provides strategic direction as Chairman of the Board. He was named Executive of the Year for the BIG Awards for Business for three consecutive years, from 2021 to 2023. Previously, Antti worked at Nokia Corporation. He holds a master’s degree in software engineering.
Ryan Barry
Vice President of Strategic Operations & Corporate Development
Ryan is the Vice President of Strategic Operations and Corporate Development for M-Files. In his role, Ryan is responsible for the identification and execution of high-value, cross-functional initiatives, including inorganic growth. For the past decade, Ryan has served in a variety of strategy, M&A, and business operations roles, including positions at venture-backed Redwood Materials and private equity firm Berkshire Partners. Ryan began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. Based in New York, Ryan has an undergraduate degree from Williams College and received his MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Tony Grout
Chief Product Officer
Tony Grout is the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of M-Files. Prior to joining the company, Tony held the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer at both Showpad and Alfresco. He led enterprise product and product transformation teams at Miro, Atlassian, and Lloyds Banking Group. His background also includes careers at Skype and Microsoft. Tony was a contributor and technical editor of Disciplined Agile Development, drawing on his experience managing product transformation at IBM. He is a trained speaker for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and coaches MBA students for the University of Surrey, UK.
Heather Guntrum
Chief Customer Officer
Heather is the Chief Customer Officer, responsible for Customer Experience, including Customer Success Management, Renewals, and Support. Heather has been driving customer success globally across a complex portfolio of enterprise software solutions since 2008. Prior to joining M-Files, Heather served as the Chief Customer Officer at both Zywave and Alfresco. She held the roles of Vice President of Customer Success and Vice President of Global Partnerships at SDL. Earlier in her career, as Vice President of Customer Experience at Teradata and Vice President of Customer Services at Aprimo, she evolved processes, teams, and premium service offerings to improve the customer journey and overall customer value. Heather holds a BS in Public Affairs and Business and has performed graduate work at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Justin Kim
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Justin is the Chief Financial Officer for M-Files and manages all finance & administrative functions for the company. He has over 20 years of experience in technology, with deep expertise managing software & SaaS businesses. Prior to joining M-Files, Justin was the Vice President of Finance for Rocket Software and has held various financial leadership positions with IBM and Accenture. Justin holds a BA in Economics from UCLA and an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California.
Matt Marriott
Chief Revenue Officer
Matt is the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at M-Files. He started his professional career at IBM in sales. Over the better part of two decades, he took on more senior leadership assignments and was responsible for theatre and global sales teams, solutions and brands. After IBM, Matt became the global CRO for Acoustic and CyberRes. He was Senior Vice President of Global Sales and GTM for Quest Software. He holds a BS in Political Science from Brigham Young University and completed his Master’s degree in Business and Marketing at the University of Colorado.
Petra Rosvall
Chief People Officer
Petra is Chief People Officer at M-Files. Her mission is to co-create an environment where people are willing and able to thrive. Petra has held a variety of senior level HR positions in different industries and regions over the past 10 years. Before joining M-Files, she was the HR Director at a leading sporting goods company where she was responsible for people and culture development across the Americas region and based in Chicago, Illinois. Petra holds a MSc in Economics from HANKEN University, as well as a specialization degree for HRD from Haaga-Helia University. She is also a certified coach and facilitator.
Mika Turunen
Senior Vice-President of Product & Engineering
Mika is responsible for leading the global product engineering organization with his team to build the products required to support the needs of M-Files’ vision, strategy and roadmaps. Mika has over 10 years of experience in various technology and leadership roles. Prior to joining M-Files, Mika worked extensively with OP Bank of Finland and in a number of consulting and product companies ranging from smaller startups to enterprises. Mika specializes in building, leading and defining different product engineering functions and spearheading transformational leadership programs.
Debbie Umbach
Chief Marketing Officer
Debbie is the Chief Marketing Officer for M-Files. She has held a range of marketing, product marketing, and product management leadership roles in both public and private B2B tech companies including Dynatrace, Bitsight, and RSA over her 20+ year career. Prior to joining M-Files she was the CMO for Own, a data protection company that was acquired by Salesforce. Debbie has an engineering degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

He began his career as a transactional attorney and worked as an investment banker at Montgomery Securities. Additionally, Jay is a former board member of several other software companies, including Nextech, Juvare, Auction.com, Ten-X Commercial, and MHS. Jay holds a degree in Arts & Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
Sebastian Charpentier

Sebastian Charpentier is a Principal at Bregal Milestone. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Houlihan Lokey, where he advised companies and executed a variety of transactions in the Data & Analytics M&A team. Sebastian was a U-18 Swedish National Champion in Ice Hockey
Sebastian holds a BSc in Politics from University of Bristol and an MA in International Political Economy from King’s College London.
Ian Kwok

Ian is a Principal at Bregal Milestone. He brings significant operating and technology sector experience to management teams. Prior to joining Bregal Milestone, Ian was a Vice President at Insight Partners, where he focused on partnering with Insight’s portfolio companies to scale effective go-to-market teams through the application of proven and repeatable best practices. Prior to Insight, Ian led Sales Strategy and Operations at ZocDoc (a healthcare startup in New York) and was also an entrepreneur, having owned and operated an automotive dealership group and successfully sold the business to Lithia Motors (NYSE: LAD) in 2014. Ian started his career at Centerview Partners executing large-cap and complex M&A transactions. Ian received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his BA with honors from Pomona College. Originally from Hong Kong, Ian also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
Sumit Pande
Director
Sumit Pande is a Senior Managing Director at Haveli Investments and helps oversee the Haveli Investments enterprise software fund. He has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry as a private equity investor, investment banker and engineer. Previously, Sumit was the Head of Technology, Media, and Telecom investments at Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Advisory USA, where he oversaw the construction, management, and performance of a multibillion-dollar portfolio of direct investments, with a focus on the enterprise software sector. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.S. from California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and B.Tech. from the Institute of Technology (BHU), India.

Brian Sheth is the Founder of Haveli Investments. Based in Austin, he created the firm in 2021. Brian has spent nearly twenty-five years investing in technology businesses. His experience includes direct involvement in hundreds of investments and dispositions valued at over $100 billion, mentoring hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives, and investors, and serving as board chairman for dozens of companies. Brian graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics. Brian and his family manage the Sheth Sangreal Foundation to support efforts to protect and repair the natural world, mitigate the effects of poverty, and create educational opportunities in central Texas and around the world.
